Description: A SUPERB DERBY VASE, CIRCA 1810. PAINTED BY WILLIAM “QUAKER” PEGG. Of elegant neoclassical urn form on a square base with upswept handles. Beautifully decorated with a wide band of beautifully rendered brightly coloured painted flowers and highlighted with exquisite & opulent neoclassical gilded motifs. William Pegg (1775-1851) was one of the foremost flower painters in English porcelain renowned for his lifelike botanical detail. Bearing the red crowned batons mark of the Duesbury & Kean partnership. Height: 12.75 in.
