BARR, FLIGHT & BARR WORCESTER VASE, CIRCA 1807-13 An exceptional vase exemplifying the factory’s artistry during the Regency period. Of classical form it features superb gilded griffin handles, beaded white collars, and richly neoclassical gilded decoration reserved on a pale blue ground. The central reserve is finely painted with a view of the Straits of Menai from Angelsea. Height: 12.5 in. The makers script under refers to their Royal patronage. Barr Flight & Barr Worcester, London House, Coventry Street. Manufacturers to their Majesties, Prince of Wales & Royal Family. The combination of sculptural form, sumptuous gilding, and finely rendered landscape demonstrates the factory’s mastery of both porcelain modelling and painted decoration.
