INKWELL CIRCA 1804-13
A finely modelled serpentine shaped inkwell decorated with classical gilt motifs on a pale salmon ground. Featuring three covered receptacles-two for ink and one for sand– each surmounted by a gilded acorn finial. The gilded scroll handle adds a sculptural element while the front is painted with a delicate bouquet of colourful flowers adding a painterly touch to this functional and bespoke piece of Regency desk ware.
Fully marked under with a crown and Barr Flight & Barr Worcester-London Flight & Barr Coventry Street. Manufacturers to their Majesties, Prince of Wales & Royal Family.
