Description:
A RARE SPODE INKWELL, CIRCA 1820 Of “Beaded Globe Inkstand” form, the egg shaped well mounted on a circular stand and flanked by three quill holders, a further aperture designed to fill the well, its cover formed as a gilded squirrel, richly decorated in pattern 1166 of bright flower sprays and gilded “mons” reserved on a rich blue ground with gilt scales. 7.7cm high.
