George IV Rosewood Table Lamp, circa 1825

The lappet carved base beneath an elongated lotus column, the quadriform base with knulled feet to castors. Attributed to Gillows, circa 1825, base on a comparison to detail found on known Gillow items including the lappet carving and knulled feet with original sunk castors. The lotus stem column whilst deriving from the designs of Henry Holland, closely compares with a giltwood occasional table from Thoresby Hall Notts, a Gillows commission 1820-1824.
