A FINE HEPPLEWHITE SATINWOOD SECRETAIRE BOOKCASE, CIRCA 1780

Description:

A VERY FINE HEPPLEWHITE PERIOD SATINWOOD SECRETAIRE BOOKCASE. GEORGE III CIRCA 1780.

The upper bookcase section with two astragal glazed doors below an inlaid dentil moulded pediment, over a faux double drawer secretaire opening to reveal an arrangement of shallow drawers and pigeon holes, over a further three graduated drawers and raised on splay feet with a shaped apron. A superb example of a wonderful colour and patination, cross banded throughout and retaining its original cast gilded handles.
