Description:

A FINE FLIGHT BARR & BARR WORCESTER VASE AND PEDESTAL, CIRCA 1815.

The campana urn shaped vase with a gilded gadroon border, a continuous gilded inner rim decorative band, twisted vine and stem gilt handles, raised paste gilding and with an applied white pearl waist. Raised on a square stepped base, with faux gilt marbling and faux gilded fluted columns to the corners. The vase and pedestal with an apple green ground with reserved painted panels. The vase with a view of “Binstead Cottage, Isle of White” The pedestal with a gentleman in a landscape. Marked under in red script: Flight Barr & Barr Royal Porcelain Works Worcester. London House 1 Coventry Street. A similar vase and plinth may be seen in Flight and Barr Worcester Porcelain 1783-1840 by Henry Sandon, page 121, plate 110.
